With 362 teams playing in Division 1, there’s so much potential to find profitable opportunities with fun prop bets in college basketball so we’ve listed and explained the main prop markets you can find at the best NCAAB betting sites.

Player Props

Many bettors like to bet on college basketball betting lines like the spread, total, and moneyline. But another popular bet is player props.

Instead of wagering on a team winning or losing, you can wager on a specific player.

On game day, there are options where you can bet on the points, rebounds, assists, threes, and other box score stats for a specific player.

For example, if you’re a fan of Zach Edey at Purdue and believe the big man will earn 15 rebounds in his upcoming game, you can wager on his rebound prop and take him Over at 11.5. If he gets 12 or more rebounds, you’d win the Over bet. If he goes Under, you’d lose your bet.

You can do this for the bigger games on each day’s slate. A small mid-major matchup won’t have player props. However, most sportsbooks will have player props for the Power 5 conferences.

This type of betting is super fun. Instead of betting for a team, your eyes will follow a specific player throughout the entire game. It makes you view and watch the game completely differently. It’s a fun change of pace.

Team Props

In basketball, there are a lot of different team props. To expand on the subject, you can bet on each squad’s team total and if the team total finishes with an odd or even number.

While the odd/even bet is more luck, the team total bets aren’t. This is like betting on the total of the whole game. However, instead of betting on both teams, you’re just betting on the one team you’re more confident with.

For example, suppose Duke’s playing North Carolina, and you’re unsure about Duke but like North Carolina to have a big day offensively. In that case, you’d back the Over for North Carolina’s team total.

If the Tar Heels are sitting with a total of 65.5, and North Carolina scores 70, you’d win your bet. If the game ends and the Tar Heels score only 55 points, you’d lose.

But this bet allows you to take away the opponent and just focus on the one team you’re more confident in with your analysis.

This type of betting is more popular for the entire game. You can also bet the team’s total in a specific half. If you’re more confident in one team performing at a higher level in one half and not the other, you can take the team total in either half with a small number.

Game Props

Finally, Game Props are fun, but they’re not always the most profitable. In college hoops, you can take long shots to predict the correct score.

You can also bet on a race to a certain number. An example bet would be “Race to 10 points – 1st Quarter”.

Let’s say Purdue faces Marquette. You can bet on the team that will get to ten points first. Of course, each game has different odds.

But if Marquette is the favorite by six points, oddsmakers will list the favorite as the team with the higher probability of scoring ten points first.

If you like the underdog but don’t think they’ll hold on throughout the game, you can bet the underdog to win the race to 30 points plus money. When that hits, you can just sit on the sideline for the remainder of the game.

If used correctly, betting on the race to a certain amount of points can be very profitable. Other game props include selecting the winning margin for the game. In that same Purdue-Marquette example, if you like Purdue to win by 11-15 points, you’d choose the winning margin for Purdue to win by 11-15 points.

There are choices for each team for every five points. You can also bet on the winning margin for either team to win by a certain amount of points.

For example, if you’re feeling a blowout win from either team, you can bet either team to win by 31+ at crazy odds. You can also bet either team to win by 1-5 points if you think the game will finish with one or two score games.

There are better bets to make if you want to be profitable. But sprinkling a little money on these game props will allow you to have a lot of fun while watching a college basketball game.
